CHRIS ALLISON

Trumpet

Christopher Allison is a Trumpet Player, Composer, Music Director, Arranger, and Educator. Allowing his many jazz influences to open the doors musically. Having had the privilege to performed with Grammy Award winning artists and more.


Chris was born in Durham, NC and as a young child his parents embraced his love for music. At the young age of 7 years old his father gave him his first trumpet lesson. In high school Chris continued his passion for music. Participating with the Marching , Symphonic, and Jazz Band Chris developed his ear for music. He climbed the ladder earning top chairs in all ensembles and being selected for the North Carolina All Star Jazz Band held at Duke University.


After graduating high school he pursued a Degree in Music by attending the Historic Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. There he studied under Melvin Jones and started performing and composing for the ensembles. At Morehouse Chris was able to grow as arranger/composer and became the Head Drum Major/Student Director/Lead Arranger of the Morehouse College House of Funk Marching Band and Soloist for the Morehouse College Jazz Band. In 2006 Chris Allison was inducted into Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity Of America, the oldest music fraternity in the country. Christopher starting performing professionally in college with a local group which led to opening and performing with Major acts including J Holiday, NERD, J Cole, and Snarky Puppy. After college Chris took his career by the reins and has allowed him to share the stage and tour with artists such PJ Morton, Calvin Richardson, Marian Mereba, Benzino, Cameo, Stevie J, 9th Wonder, Rapsody and many more.


With a very busy schedule Christopher still finds time to give back. Christopher has a firm dedication to education. Showing youth how to take their love for music and allowing them to achieve their collegiate goals. Chris gives back by volunteering with local middle and high school Marching and Jazz programs.
